Every HIGHLANDER event is a unique location that ranges from vast deserts to mountain tops that are snowy and from sand dunes to pastures and lakes which are appealing to modern-day travelers.

The participants are encouraged to ditch their phones and take in the natural world and join the global HIGHLANDER group of hikers.

“The HIGHLANDER approach strikes the perfect balance between guided trekking and self-sufficient trek,” said Peter Watson, acclaimed travel writer photographer as well as HIGHLANDER ambassador. “With numerous logistics handled I am able to enjoy the freedom that comes from walking on my own with the added benefit of having less weight to carry and not having to worry about food or fuel as well as planning routes or searching for campsites that are suitable every day. Instead, I can pay attention to the trail ahead and relish the view.”

“HIGHLANDER can also be a fantastic opportunity to meet other like-minded individuals and meet new people while hiking,” Watson added. “Even even though I’m a solo hiker, fellow hikers are always within reach and are always willing to stop to chat. Evenings are social occasions with hikers sharing stories around the campfire. I’ve kept in contact with several people I met along the way and we’re planning more HIGHLANDER hikes.”
